FROM THE TRENCHES
Topic: Teething
Teething season hit hard for one of our dads this week — 8-month-old crying through the night unless he’s being held, mom running on fumes, and dad stuck trying to figure out how to actually help without making things worse.
The Slack crew came through with some battle-tested advice:
Have the conversation when things are calm, not mid-scream session. Figure out how you can tag in so she feels supported, not replaced.
Rotate nights or shifts so both parents can get some rest and avoid burnout.
Keep Tylenol and ibuprofen in rotation (per your pediatrician’s guidance), and consider teething gel massages for quick relief.
Remember it’s a long game — one rough night won’t derail everything, and these moments can actually be some of the most special (once you survive them).
Got a trick that worked? Total fail? Hit reply or drop it in Slack. Join here.

Shoutout to @mindfuelmethod in Pittsburgh for hooking a few of our dads up with a free sauna + cold plunge session. Nothing like bonding over freezing water and questionable life choices. Thanks, Mind Fuel!

Speaking of IRL meetups, we’re looking to expand beyond run clubs — hikes, workouts, BBQs, whatever gets dads together. If you want to lead something in your area, hit us up.
We’ve also been challenging dads to sign up for something this fall — a race, a ride, a lift-off, anything to keep you training and accountable. Runna is giving our crew a 2-week free trial. Pick your distance (even your first 5K), it syncs to your wearable, and boom — you’re training. Strength work included. Code DADDAY for the trial. If you’re in, follow @daddayrunclub on IG and DM us your info so we can feature you.
The Dad Day Fantasy Football Survivor League is live! The more, the merrier. $10 buy-in. Get in here. Thanks for setting it up, Henry!
