Hope you had a great weekend. We had some issues last week with the new site and links in the email, but we’re all fixed now (that’s what our tech guy tells us at least).

Don’t forget to send us your photos of what you’re working on or building.

Onward…

On Feeling Like You’re Not Doing Enough

That voice in your head saying you should be doing more? Every good dad has it.

The one that shows up when you're too tired for that third bedtime story. Or when work runs long. Or when you snap over spilled juice.

Here's the truth: that guilt is proof you care. The dads who worry about being good enough usually are.

Keep showing up. Keep trying. That's enough.

Marcus Freeman - More Than a Coach

When you're leading one of college football's most legendary programs and raising six kids with your college sweetheart, you learn a thing or two about developing talent both on and off the field.

Marcus Freeman's philosophy? It's all about lifting others up. "What are you doing on a daily basis to make sure that you're trying to help the people around you have success?" he says. "That's what it's about.

It's about helping these people figure out ways to achieve goals that maybe they couldn't even imagine. That's as a father; that's as a football coach."

At 39, he's proving you don't have to choose between being great at what you do and being there for your family.

Whether he's coaching future NFL stars or coaching his kids through life, Freeman's showing that the principles of leadership work everywhere - even at the breakfast table. Follow Marcus here.

Get Your Back(Seat) Together

If your backseat looks anything like mine - an archaeological dig site of snacks, toys, and "I'll clean that later" moments - you might need this. Carhartt's seat organizer is basically a tactical vest for your car, with 8 pockets.

It's built Carhartt-tough, which means it'll outlast whatever your kids throw at it. Literally.

What Else We’re Eying Up:

How Often Should You Switch Up Your Workout Routine?

Your body's smarter than you think - it adapts to the same old moves faster than your kids learn your phone password.

Here's when to mix it up:

  • Strength training: Every 8-12 weeks

  • Muscle building: Every 6-8 weeks

  • Weight loss: Every 4-6 weeks

  • Cardio: Every 4-6 weeks

If you're feeling stuck, bored, or just not seeing results, don't jump ship - just change the channel. Switch up the weight, reps, tempo, or exercises. Sometimes the smallest tweaks make the biggest difference.

What’s That Noise?

Your garage door's trying to tell you something. Here's what those noises mean:

  • Grinding/Metal-on-Metal: Rollers are shot. Easy DIY fix - just pop in new ones ($20 at hardware store).

  • Rattling/Loose Hardware: Time for the annual tighten-everything-up ritual. 10 minutes, one wrench.

  • Squeaking/Squealing: Hit it with some WD-40 on the hinges and springs. If it doesn't stop, those springs are getting tired.

  • Banging/Slapping: Call a pro. That's your springs talking, and they're not the DIY kind of problem.

Spaces that make you want to stay a while

Forget your standard resort. At Carmel Valley Ranch, kids can feed chickens, learn beekeeping, and hit the splash pad while you sneak off to golf, spa, whatever - all spread across 500 acres of California paradise.

The Adventure Den runs different programs by age group, which means your teenager won't be stuck doing crafts with toddlers.

The best part? They've thought of everything: spacious suites for families who need breathing room, restaurants that actually understand kid menus (they even make baby food in-house), and nightly s'mores because, well, who doesn't love s'mores?
