Sup dudes. Happy Hump Day.

Make sure you check out the Community Notes section today. Really fired up about this one. Let’s get after it.

📕 DAD WISDOM

Run Your Own Race, Dad

It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparing yourself to other parents.

Maybe they’ve got calmer kids, cleaner houses, or seem to nail the morning routine without breaking a sweat.

Meanwhile, you're stepping on Legos and debating whether a PB&J counts as dinner - just trying to make it through the day without losing your cool.

Here’s the truth: comparison is a waste of parenting energy. Easier said than done, but still true.

You don’t see their chaos. Their doubts. Their 2am wakeups and cereal-for-dinner nights.

Your kids don’t need the “Joneses” - they need you, present and engaged.

Stay in your lane. Run your race.

Tommy Caldwell isn’t just one of the most accomplished climbers in the world - he’s also a dad who’s redefined what adventure looks like with kids in tow.

Known for free climbing the Dawn Wall of El Capitan, Tommy has pushed human limits on the rock.

For Tommy, parenting and adventure go hand in hand. But it’s not all chalk bags and scenic views. Tommy sees fatherhood as a mirror; a chance to reflect, grow, and pass on something deeper:

“You’ve got to understand yourself before you can pass that on.”

He’s also learned that parenting doesn’t just shift priorities — it reframes joy itself:
“If you want your kids to experience joy, you’ve got to be an example of that.”

And his climbing crew these days? Other dads.

“You don’t sweat the small things anymore. You just feel lucky to be out there and living the life that you are. Having kids is pretty great for that.”

DAD TOYS

Easy-Squeeze Juicer

Don’t judge me for this one. It’s a juicer. Time Magazine even featured it… so yeah, it’s a big deal, haha.

Perfect for weekend margs, homemade lemonade with the kids, or just proving to your family that, yes, you do use kitchen gadgets.

Get it here.

Sign Up. Show Up. Don’t Look Back.

One of the simplest ways to get back in shape (or push yourself)? Put something on the calendar.

A local 5K. A hike with your kid. A race you’ve been dodging for years. Doesn’t matter what it is — it gives your workouts purpose and your day a little extra structure.

Why it works:

  • It reignites motivation.

  • It gives you something to train for, not just towards.

  • It boosts your physical and mental health.

  • And your kids see you go after something, which is a win in itself.

Check out our ‘Community Notes’ section today for more on this!

We Teamed Up with Runna. Let’s Train for Something.

Alright gents. Pumped to share this.

We’re kicking off our Fall Challenge, and while we don’t have a flashy name (yet), the goal is simple: pick something and train for it.

Whether it’s your first 5K, a turkey trot, or a half-marathon you’ve been avoiding, there’s power in signing up and showing up.

We partnered with Runna to make it easy.

It’s the app I’m using to train for the Charlotte Marathon. Took me 2 minutes to build a custom plan that syncs to my watch and tells me exactly what pace and mileage to hit each day.

Strength training? Mobility? You can add it all in. So no, you don’t have to give up squats.

Runna’s hooking up the Dad Day crew with a free 2-week trial using code DADDAY.

I’ve used a lot of training tools. This is hands down the real deal.

PS: We grabbed the handle @daddayrunclub and we’re using it to spotlight the dads who sign up for something. If you sign up for a race (5K, 10K, half, whatever), let us know. We’ll be sharing bios, progress, training pics, and keeping each other motivated.

PPS: Here’s a list of all the races in the United States this fall.
