Happy Friday, gents. Big one for me today…celebrating 10 years of marriage. Wild how fast it goes. Taking Monday off for Labor Day, so we’ll be back in your inbox Wednesday. Have a great weekend!

PS: If you’re new here, we mix it up on Fridays with a quick recap from the week and a few extra gems to head into the weekend right.

THE DIGEST

  • Most Clicked: Mugsy Jorts (who knew?!)

  • Best Community Reply: Everyone says it goes fast because it does. Let that sink in.

  • Wisdom of the Week: Patience isn’t just about not losing it, it’s about showing your kids how to stay calm when everything feels cramped and chaotic. Sometimes the reminder is simple: the storm passes, the sun comes back out, and they’re still looking at you to see how you handled it.

  • Product of the Week: VAER D-4 Meridian Watch

  • Deal of the Week: 15% off site-wide at Lineage Provisions: Animal-Based Protein, Jerky and more.

  • New RUN CLUB: Shoutout to Chris Reed for kickin’ off the Dad Day Run Club in Phoenix tomorrow. In the area? Click here for deets.

FROM THE TRENCHES

The Slack channels were a little quieter this week. Makes sense. A lot of dads were wrapping up summer trips, trying to squeeze in last pool days, and bracing for back-to-school chaos.

It’s that weird in-between season: still summer, but you can feel routines creeping back in. Bedtimes need tightening, backpacks need stocking, and patience gets tested as everyone transitions.

Some common themes we’ve been hearing:

  • Re-entry is rough. Vacations are great, but getting kids back on schedule after late nights and ice cream-for-dinner is no joke.

  • Back-to-school = back to logistics. Forms, supplies, carpools, practices — it all hits at once.

  • Dad reset. For a lot of guys, fall feels like a reset button. New routines, fitness goals, or even just committing to calmer mornings.

So if you’re feeling like the wheels are a little wobbly right now, you’re not alone. The trenches this week look like Target aisles, Google calendars, and kitchen tables covered in school forms.

GARAGE

Send us what you’re working on

Sold my ’86 Land Cruiser when our first kid was born — been kicking myself ever since. This ’94 70 Series from Japan popped up on Marketplace for a steal, and I couldn’t pass it up. Gonna turn it into a project car with my boys, get our hands dirty, and hopefully pass on my love for Land Cruisers in the process.

Working on something? Reply to this email and send it our way. House Projects, Green Grass, Businesses, Whatever. Would love to feature it.
