📕 DAD WISDOM
Progress Over Perfection
It’s easy to think we need to get everything right as parents. Every reaction, every decision, every word. The truth? We’re going to blow it. We’ll lose patience, we’ll miss a moment, we’ll say the wrong thing.
But that’s not what our kids remember. They remember the pattern. They remember if you keep showing up, if you try again tomorrow, if you make space for them even when you’re tired.
Parenting is more like training than performing. Small reps, stacked over time, matter far more than perfection.
So instead of aiming for flawless, aim for present. The progress you make by showing up every day will mean more to your kids than getting it “right” ever will.

RAD DAD
Tony Finau
Tony Finau grew up in a cramped garage in Utah, hitting golf balls off scraps of carpet. His parents sacrificed everything so he could chase the game and that pressure shaped him into one of the PGA Tour’s brightest stars.
Now a father of six, Finau wrestles with the flip side: raising kids who don’t face the same struggles he did.
“My kids don’t feel the pressure I had growing up. I just try to keep them accountable for what they want to accomplish.”
Family always comes first. Finau is known to skip tournaments just to caddie at his son’s junior events.
“My boys are only young once. I want to be there for them as much as possible.”
At the end of the day, trophies aren’t what drive him.
“If I raise good human beings, that’s the biggest win I can play for.”
Why he’s a RAD DAD: Because Tony Finau proves that success isn’t measured in majors or money; it’s in the kind of kids you raise and the character you pass down.

DAD TOYS
Gear With History
If you’re into gear with a little history behind it, Ebbets Field should be on your radar. Since ’88, they’ve been recreating old-school team hats, jackets, and jerseys with insane attention to detail. Think vintage designs, quality materials, and the kind of authenticity that feels way cooler than just grabbing a random cap off the rack.
Perfect for the ballpark, the backyard, or just pretending you’re part of some throwback team from the ‘40s.

DAD BOD
The ‘Nappucino’
Here’s a hack we picked up from Derek over at 5HT.com: the Nappucino.
Here’s how it works: caffeine takes about 25 minutes to hit your system. So, drink a coffee, set a timer for 25 minutes, and crash for a quick nap. You’ll wake up right as the caffeine kicks in—double boost.
Science shows this combo can improve mood, memory, alertness, and reaction time. Basically, it’s the closest thing dads get to a cheat code for energy.

» We’re always looking for new ways to connect—digitally and IRL.
On Strava, dads are logging miles, chasing PRs, and keeping each other moving. On Slack, it’s all about the async dad life: ask fatherhood questions, showcase your lawn, drop your playlist, share a win (or vent about a meltdown).
Two easy ways to plug in with other dads who get it.
» Attention: Pittsburgh Dads
This Sunday (9/14), we’re teaming up with Steel City for a 3-ish mile run out of their Shadyside store at 8am. No pressure on pace. It's all about conversation. Bonus: 10% off Steel City gear for everyone who joins. Sign up here.
» Dad Beers
A beer. A cause. A crew of dads. We’re teaming up with breweries across the country for a simple concept: make sandwiches for local shelters, have a beer, and connect with other dads. Do some good, drink some beer, meet some dads. Win-win-win.
We’re looking for hosts. Hit reply if you want to bring Dad Beers to your city.
» Fall Challenge
We’re pushing dads to commit to something this fall. It could be a 5k or your first half-marathon. We partnered with Runna to make it simple: get a free 2-week trial with code DADDAY. The app builds a custom plan, syncs to your watch, and keeps you honest. Already signed up? DM us at @daddayrunclub—we’d love to feature you.
