📕 DAD WISDOM

Not Our Time

It's easy to miss those lazy Sundays or spontaneous late nights. But somewhere between the 5am wake-ups and chicken nugget dinners, you realize something: this isn't our time anymore. It's theirs.

That doesn't mean we can't have our moments - the occasional night out, the solo gym sessions, the quiet coffee before everyone wakes up. But this season isn't about us. It's about raising little humans who'll someday have seasons of their own.

The funny part? While we're busy trying to raise them, they're quietly making us better humans too. More patient, more present, more purposeful. Trading those 20-something hungover Sundays for morning cartoons and pancakes isn't really a sacrifice. It's just a different kind of perfect.

BADASS DAD

Andy Stumpf

Andy Stumpf isn’t just a former Navy SEAL—he’s a dad who takes fatherhood as seriously as any mission he’s ever been on. With 17 years of military service, including time with SEAL Team Six, Andy knows a thing or two about discipline, resilience, and leading by example.

For Andy, fatherhood is about teaching self-reliance. He believes in letting his kids navigate challenges instead of rushing to solve everything for them. "I think it's important to allow them to figure out, navigate, and understand they're capable of getting out of difficult and dangerous situations." He’s not babying them—he’s prepping them for life.

At the core of it all? Leading by example. Andy doesn’t just talk about integrity and personal accountability—he lives it. "The things that come out of your mouth are important, but if you don't back them up with action, they're meaningless." In other words, if you want your kids to do the right thing, show them how it’s done.

DAD BOD

What’s in a Squat?

Tim Ferriss swears by air squats before meals as a simple, science-backed way to improve fitness and manage weight—no gym required.

Here’s the hack: 50 air squats before eating, 90 seconds of movement 90 minutes after. Why? It spikes GLUT-4 levels in your muscles, helping shuttle calories into muscle instead of fat.

What’s GLUT-4? Think of it like a school bus for sugar—except instead of dropping kids off at recess, it’s making sure your calories go to muscle instead of your dad gut.

Ferriss even does 40 squats in public restrooms before meals. Bold move. But the point stands—squats are free, effective, and take less than a minute.

Try it before your next meal. Worst case? You get stronger. Best case? You hack your metabolism.

JUNK DRAWER

Lead From the Front: James Dyson built 5,126 failed prototypes before creating his first working vacuum. When his kids asked about the failures, he'd say "we found 5,126 ways that don't work."

Takeaway: Let your kids see you fail, learn, and try again.
