Life runs fast most days. Schedules. Deadlines. Noise.
But this week doesn’t have to. The holiday stretch is a rare pause. A chance to be where you are. You’re allowed to move slower. To answer less. To let the world spin without you for a bit.
Being a dad isn’t always about motion. Sometimes it’s about holding the line. Being steady. Being available.
If you’re already thinking about what’s coming in 2026, good. But don’t rush past what’s right in front of you to get there.
Let the pace drop this week. Everything important will still be there when it’s time to pick it back up.
RAD DAD
Clark Griswold (Holiday Edition)
Today we’re bending the rules and featuring a fictional Rad Dad, because… it’s Christmas Eve, and it just felt right.
Clark Griswold is the dad who wants nothing more than a perfect family Christmas and somehow manages to burn the house down trying to make it happen.
He’s wildly optimistic. Chronically overcommitted. Allergic to chill. And deeply well-intentioned.
Clark’s a good reminder that being a dad isn’t about getting everything right. It’s about showing up with enthusiasm, loving your family hard, and occasionally electrocuting the neighborhood with 25,000 lights because you care. A lot.
Even when the turkey’s dry, the bonus is missing, and everything goes sideways, he never stops trying to make the holidays special for his people.
And honestly? That counts.

Holiday rule of thumb: If you’re going to crush gingerbread, you’ve gotta earn it.
That doesn’t mean a heroic workout. It means movement, daily:

Stretch on the floor instead of scrolling
Eat the cookies. Have the pie. Drink the nog.
