đ DAD WISDOM
Embrace Your Own Timeline
I heard someone recently talking about the idea of embracing your own timeline. Thereâs always going to be someone who hits their goals sooner, whether thatâs in business, fitness, or parenting.
Iâm guilty of this myself. I see guys in the entrepreneurship world whoâve sold businesses or hit milestones faster, and I have to remind myself: run your own race. Show up, work hard, keep stacking bricks, and your time will come.
Parentingâs the same. Your kid might read later than the neighborâs. Or struggle with sports when everyone else looks like a natural. Thatâs okay. Theyâre on their own timeline too. The best thing we can do as dads is support, encourage, and remind them (and ourselves) that growth doesnât have to look the same for everyone.
Run your race. Let them run theirs.

RAD DAD
Kirk âYou Like Thatâ Cousins
Photo via YouTube
Iâve been watching the QB series on Netflix, and it struck me how Kirk Cousins just operates differently than most guys – even in defeat. Calm, measured, intentional.
Cousins, a longtime NFL quarterback, has two boys and is vocal about the kind of legacy he wants to leave at home.
âI believe their future maturity requires my present intentionality. I wonât get these years back, and time invested today will pay dividends. Theyâll leave our home before we know it.â
For Cousins, itâs about showing up in the daily grind of fatherhood the same way he does in footballâsteady and committed. Or as he puts it:
âMaximize your impact by filling your kidsâ needs in every season.â
Thatâs what makes him a Rad Dad: keeping his priorities straight, leading with intention, and remembering that wins at home last longer than wins on the field. Follow Kirk here.

DAD TOYS
Animal-Based Protein
Most protein powders taste like chalk and wreck my stomach. I finally came to terms with the fact that if I actually want to feel good, Iâve got to pay up for quality.
Enter Lineage Animal-Based Protein. Itâs grass-fed beef protein + organs (yep) mixed with fruit. Chocolate flavor, smooth, no gut bomb aftermath. At 22g of protein per serving, itâs become my go-to post-workout.
Not the cheapest option, but sometimes you get what you pay for. My stomachâs been thanking me ever since.

Track What You Eat

One of the simplest ways to level up your fitness isnât a new workout; itâs tracking what you eat.
Hereâs the science: studies show people consistently underestimate how much they eat (sometimes by 20â30%). Logging your food forces awareness, which helps you spot patterns (like where those extra 500 calories are sneaking in) and stay accountable. It also helps you dial in protein intake, which most dads fall short on.
You donât need to track forever. Think of it as a short-term audit to reset habits. A free app like MyFitnessPal makes it easy: scan barcodes, log meals, and get a clear picture of whatâs really going on.
Small effort, big payoff.
